This was taken about a week ago and the species has not returned to my area since that time.  We have a lot of heat for Washington (mid 90s).

Excellent, David.  the detail is outstanding and I like the blackberry stain.  Great perch.  I haven't seen one in a while either.

Fine image of this juvenile, David. The head is very sharp, and the perch and berry-stained beak add a lot. Fantastic background too.

We still see a few here, but not as many as a few weeks back or as last year, for that matter.

Nicely composed image with an interesting perch and nice detail in the grosbeak.  Perhaps a little more DOF?

This is beautiful David.  Wonderful detailed pose, light, background and perch.  The mossy part of the perch seems to perfectly counter-balance the grosbeak.  There are still a few of these around here in Northern California, though haven't seen any males in a week or so - just females and youngsters.

Lovely image, David. They're in the mountains here; they only move through Boise in migration.

Triple digit temps here. Brutal for a life-long Alaskan.
