NPN Staff Profile - Kah Kit Yoong
Landscape Gallery Moderator

I am a Melbourne-based photographer and writer. While I love traveling to all sorts of destinations, I feel a special connection with the natural world. I love the exhilaration of watching land and sea transformed by magic hour light.

The life I had mapped out as a doctor was changed forever when I took my first snap with an SLR camera in 2005. I then developed my photography while wandering the cobblestone streets of historic Italian towns and exploring the wild mountainous island state of Tasmania. My inspiration is to preserve forever those special moments I have borne witness to - where light and circumstance come together in a remarkable way.

My work has been published in Popular Photography, Digital Photographer, Digital Camera, Photo Review, Australian Photography, ANZANG yearbooks and various publications for Canon. I regularly contribute articles to the Travel Photographers Network (TPN) and was awarded their inaugural Photographer of the Year in 2007. I was honoured to be an international speaker for Canon in a series of travel photography workshops in 2008.

You can view more of my photography on my website at www.magichourtravelscapes.com.
