I love visiting and photographing these majestic old oak trees. They are only a about 3 miles or so from my home and I'm going to make a point of photographing them in different conditions. We have had lots of fog in the early mornings recently and I have really enjoyed making a few pictures of them with the fog. Thanks for looking.

Nicely done Nick. I especially like the soft light on the second tree. The dirt road ( it looks especially well cared for) and the wire fence line frame the subject nicely.

This has a wonderful mood and feel to it, Nick. The lighting is sublime and I like the way the dirt road disappears into the fog. I love the character of the FG oak and the graceful limbs as they spread out across the image. Do you have any images where you were able to move to the right and get rid of the sky in the URC? Just wondering as an alternate comp because this is fantastic as is.

Beautiful, Nick. Love the mysterious mood created by the fog and the trees and fading road are great. I like this a lot.

Thank you Stephen, Ed and Harley. Nice getting your thoughts on this and so glad you guys liked it.
Ed, I do have a couple of shots just as you mentioned and they look pretty good. In the long run I ended up liking this one the best mostly because of the way the road looked in this frame. Thanks guys! Nick

Nick: the trees are truly magnificent and seeing them in the muted tones of the mist makes me appreciate their form more so than I would on a sunny day. The road as it disappears into the fog is an excellent frame. Great! Richard

Nick, you portrayed these tress full of character wonderfully for me. Again I appreciate your careful treatment of the muted colors a lot. The road vanishing in the distance is a very important element here in my opinion.

I just think about the fence at the left - especially the vertical stick draws my attention a bit too much. Would it be an option for you to get rid of it?

Richard and Peter, Thanks guys. I really enjoy these old oaks and this seemed like a perfect morning to capture their mood. Glad you enjoy it too.
Peter, I did do a bit of cloning on the one I posted in the Landscape gallery but just decided not to do any on this one. I would not have a problem with it if I decide to do it later. Thanks much! Nick
