Tack-sharp, sweet pose, and I like the out-of-the-box crop - very effective - showing off that great moss.
Well-done!

Very good, David. By keeping the bird small in the frame, the space in frontis adequate for my taste and the compositionis nicely balanced by the perch, which is gorgeous.

I like the perch and background. Looks as if you had good light. I think the slight head turn "allows" the bird to be positioned as it is and your composition works well. Nicely done.

Hi David,
Young chickadees are quite scruffy at this time of year. Comp looks fine and its good to try something different. You could also use less sharpening on this one as there's quite a bit of contrast in the feathers Otherwise, I'm glad that you left the mossy portion of the branch in the comp..........Jim

Yes Jim. Fear of over sharpening is one of my biggest concerns and I typically use the TK sharpening action at 40 to 50%. So I was aware that this was an issue with this image hence setting the sharpening action to 30%. Probably eliminating the TK sharpening altogether wouldn't have made a whole lot of change in this image.
