Tungeneset, Senja, Norway

A vertical backbone like the compacted vertebrae on the spine of some monstrous sea dragon juts out into a dark forbidding sea, snow clad and menacing.  These mountains are actually known as the Devils Teeth and are undoubtedly Senja Islands most magnificent peaks.  I used a reflection pool amongst the cold grey rocks to add to the drama.

This is a fabulous image Ian.  It certainly conveys the feeling of icy cold.  Excellent lead in to the jagged mountains.

A very graphic image...appreciate the strong lines and tones.

This is fabulous, Ian.  I live the strong lines, cold color palette, and the vertical composition.  It’s a striking scene, and you have composed in beautifully.

Very nice tones and exposure, Ian. Looks much too cold for my Southern bones. Well constructed image.

Well composed image.  Good flow, with everything leading to the snowcapped peak.  Nice tonality overall, but would like to see more detail in the snow.  Would work as B&W, but as is, the blue adds to the sense of cold.

Wow, that is a rugged place.  I like the almost monochromatic feel to this; it sure does feel cold.  I have seen rock like that, and wondered how it was formed.  You're right, it feels lke you are walking down the spine of a giant skeleton.

A very impressive image, Ian. The tangible foreground details just make the difference for me.

Really nice Ian. The image has such draw -- it is both beautiful as well as intimidating. And, I love how you have connected things together with this dynamic composition.

Wonderful textures and shapes in this powerful image, Ian.  The reflection pool might well be the dragon's eye as it moves toward the unsuspecting mountains.  A cold winner!

Beautiful leading lines and the gray blues are a very nice combo.  Reflection placed perfectly.

The blues and grays go so well together in your image.  I especially like the foreground rock with reflection pool.  Nicely done.
