Harry, what a spectacular image. The light and color here are wonderful, and you were fortunate to have the radial pattern in the clouds.I like your choice of a cooler white balance here, it adds some drama to this twilight image. Your processing of the light and color here is great. From a composition perspective, I like your arrangement of the snow covered rushes in the foreground, and I like the diagonal flow of the channel towards the trees. I think a slight crop from the top would add a little more emphasis on the trees, without losing anything of importance in the radial clouds. Initially, in viewing the smaller image I thought the comp was a little too heavily weighted to the right side of the scene. But upon viewing the larger version, the detail in the rushes in the LLC appears strong enough to serve as a balancing element. I'd consider dodging the the rushes in the LLC, this would draw you eye even more to them, and strengthen their role as a balancing element. But that is a nitpick, this is a very high impact image as presented.

This is lovely, Harry. The flow of clouds contrasts beautifully with the cold, sharp textures in the snowy marsh. While the clouds don't line up "perfectly" with the tall trees, there's a fine eye flow from the water to the trees to the clouds. I prefer the sense of flow and the extra emphasis on the water in the marsh in this view.

This is a real beauty, Harry! Great depth, foreground detail and killer sky. No suggestions here, a most enjoyable image.

Both versions are superb, but my preference is for this one, Harry. I think the reeds add so much to this scene and the warm light is slightly more prominent throughout the image and the clouds fanning out above the trees is spectacular. My only suggestion; and this is just a personal preference; would be to doge the reeds toward the LLC ever so slightly as to make them stand out a little more. You can not go wrong with either one.

Beautiful and believable color. Not oversaturated. The cool tones on the snow add to the atmosphere. This would make a wonderful large print.

Thanks for the observations and comments. I've brightened the left corner a little as suggested and added some general contrast and slightly brightened the cloud areas of the sky to better define them. Wondering if that was an improvement, or no real difference.

This is a cracker Harry gorgeous believable colours a superb balance of warm and cool and I think those clouds are fabulous as is the quality of the reflected light in the pool. A very strong image and in my opinion better by a significant margin than the other versions you showed before.

Nicely composed and exquisite light, soft and subtle colors. I like the angular foreground weeds and the wonderful clouds. Just gorgeous.

Harry, the radiating cloudlines and also reflection of the orange sky off the ice are nice. I think some more of that orange reflecting off the snow would be nice and wonder if desaturating the blues a little might achieve that. The angling of the pond works well.

Thanks Doug - I selected the highlights of the snow only and reduced the cyans/increased the reds slightly. I think an improvement, just didn't want to go overboard in that direction so hopefully the adjustment appears restrained. Good idea.

Harry, I'm really enjoying this image. It is a great composition and the conditions you captured are wonderful. Those clouds are very nice and I just love the light and reflections. This has such a nice feel to me. I think the last repost is just about as perfect as one could want. Beautiful work. One of those images that would look great large and on metal.

Beyond the beautiful color and the warm / cool tonal contrast, this is an interesting study in compositional lines. The converging lines in the sky are very ordered and the v-shape of the frozen stream echoes this shape. The frozen vegetation in the foreground forms chaotic lines that contrast with the otherwise ordered structure (not in a bad way though). Nicely done!

I prefer this one Harry. I like the foreground here, it leads my eye though the scene a little better, and this one has a broader feel to it. Lovely colors, and those clouds are fascinating.
That had to be a chilly morning!
