While looking through the archives I came across this image. I am not sure why I never worked on it as I do like the image. This is one of several trees; which has succumbed to the elements; along Edisto Beach. I was fortunate to catch some lovely warm color in the sky before the sun came up. There were several jet contrails which were cloned out of the scene.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

That's some sweet light with a terrific centre subject. The lines of water break up the foreground nicely.

Very simple composition which works well for the subject.  The lighting really brings the image to life.  Contrails suck!

The gorgeous colors engulfing the whole scene really grab the eye.  Only after I admire that, do I start wondering why the heck is that tree growing out on the beach?  I wonder if it's another example of the sea level rising.   Thought provoking, kind of scary, but beautiful.

Beautiful silhouette. I like the composition and the colors. The reflection of the tree in the water is an added bonus. I was surprised to see a tree that had at one time grown in sea water. If it were me I would have been worried setting up a tripod in the surf. The branches are really marvelous. A very nice image indeed.

Ed, this is a wonderfully simple composition, but a truly stunning take in the end. The muted back lighting works perfectly as not to detract and draw our eyes away from the main subject.....laugh

Living in our world today contrails are an almost automatic condition of landscape photos. I think the worst area I've ever shot in is the Moab-Arches-Canyonlands for contrails. The morning flight patterns there almost blot out the sun like a nuclear winter.....cheeky

Beautiful scene and great color. Nice and simple. No nits here, most enjoyable.

Ed, This is wonderful. The sunrise has such beautiful warm colors and the reflections are super nice. The waves coming in add a great touch and I absolutely love the mood. Beautiful capture!!

This is a really nice alternate take on these oft photographed trees. I like the faster shutter speed as contrasted to the usual long exposure wave action. Great light, comp, and subject matter.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone; always appreciated.

Harry and Paul: You are right; contrails suck!

Wayne: I am sure that has some impact, but I think the main culprit is erosion from storms. This past year hurricane Matthew really devastated the area according to an article I was reading.

There is such a peaceful mood to this, Ed. You nailed the light and the color. The reflected light in the foreground has wonderful luminosity. Nicely done!

A really beautiful image ... so artistic. There is such grace in this scene.

One of your finest Ed IMHO.
