Moose in the Trees

I took this photo back before Christmas.  This cow and calf moose were in the trees not far from our house.  You can see the calf is down on his knees, which is pretty common for them to do when eating something down on the ground. (They do that a lot when eating the grass on our lawn in the summer.)  As I recall, it was kind of dark when I took this photo.

Comments and critiques always appreciated.

Sweet shot of this mom and calf Genny. I love the birch bark and the flocking on the trees too.

The scene is beautiful. The forest shows just enough of the mother and calf. Nicely done.

Exposure looks great and I like the nice rich colors.  The cold mood of the setting is well communicated.  I only wish for a little better view of both faces.

This needs to be viewed large to get the best results.  The look on the calf is great.  Glad you spotted this image.and got the photo.

Nice capture of a very natural sighting, Genny!  I like that you were able to get both of their heads in the shot.  That's not always possible when they're in the trees.
