Maybe the processing, maybe the view, maybe both but this has the feel of a vintage photo. Possibly the subdued colors, and the yellows that are dominant, even in the blues of the sky. Love the feel to it, the calm that the atmosphere provokes. I'm wondering if that is an old pier that is now stumps in the water? We have some areas like that in my area where bridges used to exist many years ago.

Thanks Harry. I agree that it does have a bit of that vintage look and feel . Not intentional but I like it too. I guess mostly from the conditions and mood at the time. No old piers here but the trees must have been cut off at one time years ago I guess. I was first here 18 years ago and it has been like this since I first saw it. Glad you liked it and it is a place I really enjoy. Nick

This well done image looks deceptively simple. The panorama exaggerates the horizontal layers which enforce the sense of peace that this image is all about. The length vs width of this panorama are perfectly chosen for this subject imo, which is an issue with many panoramas. I'm a big fan of frames and here the frame adds to the sense of width. It could be even regarded as part of the composition.
This has a feeling of an old oil painting to me. Perhaps it's the handling of subdued coloration and microcontrast. This is particularly true of the vegetation on the right side where there is plenty of detail and color but no 'pop' to it. There is a lot of cloudless sky and frankly I like it that way. It's an image of peace, so negative space is very appropriate.

Glad you turned around for one last look as this does have a wonderful mood to it, Nick. Everything works in harmony here from the pano format, to the fog bank and the cloudless sky. This scene is very subdued, but thoroughly enjoyable to view. Looks like a great way to end your trip.

Nick, this is a beautiful view of blue and white loveliness. The crystal clarity of the water, sky and cloud is very restful and inviting. You've got just enough trees and land to hold things together.

Nick,
Great choice going back and creating this panoramic view. Of course I wasn't there, but I think just a standard grab landscape view would have been to ordinary - but you've transformed the scene before you to reflect your feelings about being there - at least I get that impression. It's times of the day like this that I reflect on all that my have transpired that morning. This captures all that.
again, the pano makes it for me, and without the layer of hovering fog, it also wouldn't be as special. Thanks for sharing.

Upon viewing an excellent image, I usually exclaim something like: "Wow!" Not so for this one. Quite the opposite. It is not that type of image. It evokes serenity, solitude, reflection and quiet study. Magnificent.

Wonderful quiet image, Nick. Very well done as usual. I'm usually not a big fan of pano's, but man, this really works. It wil make a great print.

Nick, this image is a consistent and fascinating presentation of the scene to me. Your composition and especially the choice of the format is spot on to my eye. Finally, the muted colors fit in well with the atmosphere. I just would like to enjoy it as a large print.

Nick
A very pleasing, calm scene. This understated, minimalist composition is still very effective, a true case of "less is more' Nicely done.
