Morning Glow Rusky

Loch Rusky, Trossachs, Scotland... Well before sunrise the sky had begun to pinken over a small trout fishing loch just beyond the boundaries of the Trossachs. On it's surface were some beautiful powder blue wooden row boats that had just begun to catch the spreading glow of the new day. I waited until both boats had reached the end of there tethered mooring. A moment where I could be reasonably sure that movement would be minimal for my relatively long exposure in pre-dawn light.

Ian, I love the mood. For this it's an image that can be presented either as is or cropped to a pano. Kept as posted the sky is gorgeous, but you might consider cloning the vapor trails (easy fix). For the sailor in me the skiffs are the eye candy. It would be a good option to crop to just below the darker cloud above the skiffs. Nicely timed shutter. At 1/8 the only motion is the foremost skiff swinging at its moorings, which doesn't detract from this delightful scene. Thank you for sharing.

Just lovely, Ian.Those little row boats are sweet, and the soft color changes in this are mesmerizing.  A very calming  image. devil

Ian

I love the light on the boats in this photo.  Very painterly.  Congratulations on the year end award.
