This is a really excellent image. People comment on how difficult it is to create compositions in the woods. Well this is how it's done. You've got everything working for you here - the strong verticals, the scattered leaves, and that wonderful light penetrating the forest. The colors are rich and yet natural. It's natural and yet it's idealized. Just goes to show that things don't have to be grand to be awesome. The square format is perfect for all these verticals. One of your best, I think.

Igor, Thank you so much! That meant a lot to me. Nick
Just getting ready to do a new print of this one. Think I will also do a metal one as I'm really interested in seeing how that will look.

Igor's comments are right on. I echo them. Wonderful image. I'm not sure how big you will print it, but if large, a minor nit is the bright spot on one of the smaller background trees in upper left of center. Probably light reflected off a knot? Not sure if that will stand out on large print.

The light in this woodland scene is truly magical, Nick. It lets the details shine in the large version from the forest floor up through the canopy. This is gorgeous; makes me wish I was there. I have no doubt that this will make a lovely print.

Beautiful, Nick!!! Great mood, great scene. Pretty minor, but I might consider cloning out the bright sky spot on the left edge of the frame. Being on the edge, it has a bit of a magnet affect on my eye. Love this one!

Excellent forest image, love the light and the natural color. It's not easy creating a composition in a forest, but you did it right. Very well seen.

Making a photograph in the woods is always challenging. You managed to do it very well. I like the feel of early light and fog in the background.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your comments on this one. It was an awesome morning to be out shooting and this walk back through the woods ended up being a favorite part of it. I love light conditions like we had here. Thanks much! Nick

Beautiful, glad I tuned in today, love the rich forest floor and how you have anchored that lead tree. You got a great moment captured.

This is gorgeous, Nick. The side lighting creates a lot of depth and the slightly dark processing, great mood. Minor stuff but I might crop or clone that one bright spot of sky on the edge of the frame on the left.

Oh my Nick. After reading the comments just getting ready to write ditto... I thought enchanting. The enchanted forest. Simply stunning - a very quiet and unspoken stunning. Igor said it beautifully.
Have to go with Harley's small nit on the light patch on the left edge. It's not so much the brightness, but that it's merged with the edge of the frame. The brightness represents the source of the light and glow throughout. Not quite sure what to suggest on mitigating.
Outstanding forest imagery.

Thought I would try cloning out the bright area that was right on the left edge as suggested. Might be better this way. Thanks!

It is a subtle but significant improvement to my eye. That bright edge is no longer pulling my attention out of the frame. I like this a lot.

This is drop-dead gorgeous Nick. It has such a warm, inviting feel to it, but still has a sense of mystery as well. The light is exquisite and you took full advantage of it. Excellent.

Nick, this is a wonderful forest scene to my eye. Saturation and contrast may be a bit on the strong side, but this way you make the image a piece of subjective landscape photography that I really appreciate. Interestingly, the choice of square format is consistent with the tranquility of the scene to me.
While the bright spot at the left border did not really bother me in the first version, the repost is a definite improvement in my opinion. A metal print certainly will be a great option for this work.
