One of the issues with having an exceptional morning is having to select which set of images will best represent that experience.  The next issue is knowing when to quit.  Guess I'm not ready quite yet to quit.  This image represents one of the longer views and is one of my favorites.

Better large.

I really appreciate your comments and critiques.

Gary, come on. Issue hell! Most would call that a blessing, at least I would. You are masterful at presenting the mood of Utah landscapes, and this is a good example. For this I could see a slight crop to just below the darker upper part as an option. Always a pleasure to view your work.

Gary, another wonderfully stunning scene from this series or type of images from Utah. This one is truly more about the fog itself then the veiled previous scenes as I recall which gave up a bit more of the terrain. However, the hint of terrain here is plenty to make the scene work very nicely, again, based more upon the depth of the drifting fog layers.

The only thing I do not like about the Utah fog is driving in it......frown.....I've encountered it a few times over the years and it scares me to death. Bad eyes do not work in unfamiliar back roads....and newer vehicles do not have curb finders anymore....sad I've had to dodge lots of deer out there in the dark too.....cheeky
btw: driving on the 20 headed from Koosharem at 0400 MST to the 15 I hit a stretch in a valley that was 10 degrees last week.......YIKES !

Thank you for the stay over offer too. I sincerely appreciate the thought. The room I had was almost 100 yards from the parking spot. Did not work for a 70 year old with old broken ankle and tons of film gear....blush

Reminds me of a long exposure on a rocky beach.  I think I prefer the earlier images, but this is nice as well.  I think the bold forms of the earlier ones attracted me more.  My wife are heading to southern UT for a little vacation, only hope to catch some fog like this.  Love your BW images.

You're killing it with these fog images, Gary. Gorgeous, layering. Your going to need to order more ink!

Gary,

Yeah, well you continue creating issues for us as well.... How can I keep offering outstanding compliments?  Feels like a broken record... ;-)   All of these have been grand, spectacular images. (I just needed to say something different.)  laugh

On a serious note, I can see this as being one of your favorites that sums up your experience.  However, I don't get that sense - and it's quite simple, because I wasn't there.  What matters of course is that you got to experience these moments.  We'll just have to settle by enjoying these images through your eyes.

I've been following this series although I haven't had as much time as I would like to comment.  This must have been extraordinary to witness.  I'm certainly not tired of seeing these so keep them coming!  I'm guessing that this would be an unusual occurance in UT.

As with the other images in this series the mood is off the chart!  I like the ethereal feel with the fog in the midst of the layered ridges.  Of course your B&W processing is always exceptional!.

Other worldly and gorgeous, as usual. Please don't quit...they are all outstanding, but I would never guess they were Utah. It does resemble the sea. No suggestions.

It is hard to sort when you stumble in to a candy store of a day. I prefer your prior image for its subtlety, but there's a wonderful depth here. The larger version has a really grand scale to it.
