You leave me speechless, Nick, this image makes for an overwhelming feeling to me. While the sunlight and the silhouette of the island draw my attention first, the hints at the details in the foreground just make the difference for me. Great piece of art to my eye.

Definitely an image that could hang in many rooms, Nick. Very artistic and beautifully done. I would entertain cloning the darker bits on the right side of the frame. Somehow they disrupt the complete harmony of the rest of the image. Very nicely done.

This has some beautiful light. Part of it's success I think is that it's tones all in one color that's almost gold. I wasn't sure about that foreground but it's sort of grown on me. Yes, it works well because the blacks are so sharp and there are some nice reflections in there. I agree that removing the rightmost duck(?) would likely be a positive thing to do. I honestly can't give any suggestions on how to improve this. We get a lot of fog images here but this stands out because of the low light diffusing through it all.

Very nice, the angled foreground is a bit different. The dark vapors at the top of the frame add a nice layer.

Lovely scene and with nice color in the processing.
I agree about removing the ducks, wish they were just a tad larger...

This is a fine mysterious, sunrise shot, Nick. It invites me to imagine being there listening to the sounds of morning and the water lapping gently. Getting the reflection just to the edge of the land is a fine touch.

Very moody, and mystical, Nick. I wondering how a crop from the right that eliminates the dark foreground would work? Not a big thing--The color and light, and your composition are excellent. Well done!

Thanks guys for your comments and suggestions on this one. I will work on a clone and crop version and see what I think. The dark things on the right are old stumps.. Appreciate getting your thoughts! Nick

Nick,
So quiet and peaceful. Wait, I can hear a pin drop... ;-) Just love the mood and atmosphere here. Beautiful.
I would agree with a clone of really only the larger one on right. Appears there's one breaching the edge too. I wouldn't go cloning crazy though - I would leave the remaining duck stumps.

Ed, Bill and Lon, Thank You! Glad you guys liked it. A pretty moody shot but it captured this morning perfectly for me.
Lon, I agree with you and Igor and just cloning or cropping the stump over near and on the right edge. I think the rest will stay.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughtful comments. They are always helpful. Nick

Very nice, Nick. As already made mention of the moodiness here is the major impact of the image. One can only imagine having been there for this wonderful event. No real thoughts for change beyond maybe a slight crop on the right to eliminate the most distant stump there. But, that is subjective. The way the light tappers off from the bright center towards the outer edge works perfectly with some mystery to the darkness.......
