Loch Assynt, Sutherland, Scotland

Without any doubt what-so-ever this was the most sublimely beautiful autumnal conditions I have ever been fortunate enough to see Loch Assynt basking in.  Not a breath of wind, a perfect mirror reflection, rich autumnal colour on the bracken and Deer grass clad slopes in the last dregs of light, and the double gabled end of the silhouetted ruin of Calder House complete with sunlit peep holes neatly nestled within the envelope of the hills beyond.

Please view LARGE..its better.

Gorgeous light here Ian. Love the beautiful fall grasses mirrored in the lake.

This is a gorgeous scene and you were fortunate to be in the right place at the right time.  I find the pale stone/boulder in the middle of the shoreline to be a bit of an eye magnet.  Could you perhaps darken it a little or even take it right out?

This is gorgeous Ian.  Stunning reflection and the whole scene just dipping with atmosphere.

I will ditto the other comments. I would like to see just a bit more detail in the shaded area especially the old house.

Great composition. and balance between the light and shadows, although I would think about lightening the structure a bit to help it stand out a little more prominently. Keep up the good work
