This was a nice and peaceful spot in Iceland, since there were very few people who found their way to it, which was very nice for a change. It's a stitch of two horizontal 16 mm shots, with each of those bracketed for the dynamic range. Quite a challenge to capture all those shots without getting spray on the lens, but after several attempts I succeeded due to the wind helping me a bit. Sometimes mother nature can actually be a bit helpful, who would have guessed that?!

f/14, ISO 100, 1-0.4-1/6 s.

C&C as always welcome, large version included.

It does look like a nice spot ... but it doesn't seem like it would be peaceful.  It seems noisy and exciting.  But that's just as nice.  cool

I'd suggest adjusting the highlights and/or increasing the contrast.

Hi Roel,

The image might need a little bit more contrast and perhaps highlights,  Other than that, your image stitching produced an awesome composition.  Well done......................Jim

Roel,

I too thought of contrast, but then I remember that photographic term.... "high key."  I think that fits this scene quite well and works.  Of course with most our images we can take them in many different directions.  I really like what you're captured and presented here.

You mentioned the wind, and that is one thing that I think is depicted strongly here.  Sure, the mist blowing around is clear, but it appears to me that the main stream of water - is bending, as if the wind was blowing it side to side.  Very cool.

Great work with this one.

Wow, what a spot to photograph Roel.  Love and appreciate the technical complexities of pulling this shot off.  Well done.  The greens and blacks look very nice to me.  I wouldn't change a thing.

The high key presentation works well. Not that you could do anything about it, but I'd love to see some texture in the open sky. The blowing spray adds a lot to the drama, here.

A very original view, Roel - this works very well. At first I thought it was too "washed out", but then, looking at it for a while longer, the feeling of being "behind the mist" really comes through. And I can certaily appreciate the technical difficulties. Nicely done!

I like the unique and dramatic perspective on this waterfall, Roel. You can really feel the mist. Difficult exposure, but I think you handled it well.

Looks like challenging conditions indeed. Nice view into the valley through a 'hole' from inside the earth. Beautiful greens. Feels a bit chopped off at the right, but maybe there was something distracting overthere. Anyway I really like it as presented.

Iceland seems to be the place for views behind waterfalls.  A bluer sky or a contrasting color tothe spray would have been a plus for me to help separate the two.  Love the vibrant greens, the moisture really keeps them eye popping.  A minor problem for me is the LRC which seems to be the trail to this location.  I guess I would have preferred a uniform grass cradel in the lower section of the image, but this may not have ben possible.  Often these slopes are much steeper and slippery than the image may indicate.

Roel, This is really an interesting shot and I like it. It is quite a view and I enjoy how you presented it. Not having more contrast here I think is what makes this even more appealing to me. Nice work getting this one!
