The peak lotus flowering season is over but I am lucky to find a few late bloomers at the HK University lotus pond. I went there in the early afternoon and the lighting condition was very harsh and not ideal.  However, this particular bloom near the edge is partly in the shadow of some nearby trees with dappled lighting.  The direct sun on the leaf behind the bloom produced this lighted green bg.

This is spectacular, Gary.  The flower has such a fine glow as well as lots of subtle color and textures and the bright leaf behind adds well to the overall glow of the image.

Really, really nice, Gary.  The glow from that leaf in the BG is great.  You handled the light excellently.

Your splendid lotus photo is back and it is perfect. Beautiful and well controlled back light. I love the background.

The lighting makes this image!  Of course the lotus flower could stand on its own, but the highlighted leaves sure enhances the scene.  Well seen and captured.
