A beautfiul image, Roel. If this the bark of an old bristlecone pine? They are a favorite of mine, very photogenic but their beauty is not always easy to capture. You did a really fine job with this one, showing their rugged beauty.

Beautiful abstract Roel. I like to shoot weathered wood as well. This one has good composition and nice subtle colors.

Hi Roel,
I like how you framed the swirling pattern of the aged wood. The stack worked well too and it is sharp from corner to corner.......................Jim.

Well seen and photographed for the abstract pattern, Roel. The detail via the stack is superb.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Alberto, this is taken in Sweden, and unfortunately we don't have bristlecones over here. This is a Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris). And you are absolutely right about their beauty being very difficult to capture at times.

You've got a fine collection of sweeping lines and warm colors here, Roel. Lovely macro abstract.
