I have not posted for several months but it only took 'a split second...' for life to change irrevocably. Things are on the mend so I am slowly getting back into photography.

This sunflower image was taken several months ago but I did not have the time nor energy to process this until now. The unfolding of the petals is like waking up from slumber and ready for the sunshine. In many ways it reflects the journey which we have gone through in these recent months.

Gary: GREAT to have you posting again and you've returned with a bang. Love the dark BG and the details in the flower center. Those petals unfolding are indeed compelling. Pretty darn good plane of focus and DOF management too. Welcome back my friend. >=))>

Fabulous …love the b/g and detail of the sunflower. The spikey green thingys with the hairs are vivid and pop against that b/g. Well done. Glad to see you enjoying the little things.

So pleased to see you posting again, Gary ! One scary image to return with !! Very dynamic and beautifully crafted - it reminds me a bit of ` the Day of the Triffids ' ( which is a compliment by the way !!!! )

Gary, I am very very glad to admire again your photos. This is beautiful in all: mood and details, smooth light and colors.
My best wishes hoping that all your unfolded petals will soon spring up towards the sun.
Take care.

Gigi

Welcome back, Gary. I had wondered what was going on with you. I'm sorry that I missed your post in the member's lounge. Glad your son is getting better. The sense of colors splashing because of the petal shapes and the unfolding works really well here. Great job with the seeing and processing.

I love the darkness of the leaves and the lines of the petals Gary. Great contrasts. I am sorry to have read about your son - but I am so glad to hear that he is mending. I am glad that you have had faith and photography to help you get through this time.
