Blend of 2 images for the high key look as in Harold Davis book. Then a trick I learnt from Gigi - inverting an image in Lab color on luminosity channel.

D90 50mm F16 1/15 and 1/10 sec tripod. LR4 CS4. Thanks for viewing and C&C appreciated.

I like the delicate look of this shot and the way the yellow shines through the petals.

Love the inner glow. Also, the translucent look, color, and pattern of the petals is great. Well done.

Very, very nice. I would be tempted to lower the sat and luminance of the yellow center. Worth looking at, anyway.

Gary, this is extraordinary. Love the light in this, though the center looks a bit too... too... Maybe a touch of burning and dodging in there is all it would take?
Thanks for passing on the trick. I'll love to give it a try. Thanks to Gigi, too!

Well worth a second look to enjoy. The petals are terrific...for reasons already mentioned. The center is a solid focal point. I join Phil and think a slight desaturation to quiet the center a bit would keep a the viewer on an even platform. Wonderfully done!

Hi Garry Excellent use of light. the luminescence in the center, and the sharp, but delicate petals and edges, make this a winner

Expertly and professionally done, Gary, and a gorgeous result. I like the subtle blue tone with the yellow glowing center. Just beautiful.

Stunning Gary! I really struggle with the lisianthus. The translucency of the petals is beautiful I love the yellow in the center too. Great work!

Stunning image, Gary! Your processing makes this beautiful flower take on a very delicate and translucent look. Great detail and love those wavy petal edges. I like the progression of lighting from darker to lighter in the middle. Agree with some other suggestions on a wee bit toning down on the center brightness though. On my monitor I notice some white web-like lines below the flower; easy fix. Great stuff, Gary! Keep 'em coming.

This is fabulous, Gary. The textures of the petals are just divine, and those colors are perfect. Really, really nice.

You do some innovative & creative work Gary, always interesting.
I especially like the progressive translucence of the petals, and the warm glow that radiates from center.
