Yttres Sand, Lofoten, Norway

One of my absolute favourite shots from the Lofoten Islands and variations there in, is this one featuring snow bent and oxygen starved grasses at the top of Yttres sand beach near Fredvang. The patterns and colouring and above all the softness reminded me of fur from some exotic pedigree pampered pussy cat. I was absolutely enamoured with it's beauty and waited until twilight and a vague pink glow hung over the snow covered peaks, whereat the whole placed glowed softly.

Please view LARGE..it's better.

Pentax 67II, 45mm lens, 0.45ND grad, f/16 at 4 Seconds. Velvia.

Ian,

Gorgeous! I absolutely love the matted down grasses, leftover from the winter blanket. Everything looks great here, comp, design, color and the soft light. Awesome.

Man you're making my jealous with all these locations high on my to-do list : Lofoten islands, Arran, etc. Wonderful shot. Funny that even when you're away from home, this has Ian Cameron stamped all over it.

The moody blues are beautiful together with the matted grasses Ian. Outstanding work. BTW - The shape of the water channel reminds me of the smile of the Cheshire Cat.

Love the glassy water against the muted texture of the grass. Lovely rural scene.

Fantastic Ian, the detail and patterns in the grass alone make this. Superb!
