hoarfrost in ust-kamenogorsk, east kazakhstan, november 2011. i confess a rapid 'snap' facilitated by a delayed plane.

thanks for looking; let me know your thoughts!

I think this is a great composition. The only suggestion I have is I think it would be stronger with a more narrow vertical crop, to lend more focus toward the person and the dog. Very nice image.

I like this Stuart, the trees look really nice covered in all that hoarfrost. I just took a shot similar at the weekend but in fog though.

Cheers, Gary.

I like this as posted. Although the person and dog are small, they attract a lot of attention and you've got nice sweeping arcs of snowy road that help lead the eyes to them. You've got a great feeling of walking through a long snowy/frosty tunnel.

Wow, from Uganda to Kazakhstan. That's some traveling. And from heat to cold!
Excellent shot, and I agree with the crop to narrow the focus. Well done.

Wow. Amazing shot. Would you consider some cloning to remove that bit of open sky at the top. It loses a bit of impact cropping.

Stuart, This is a wonderful b/w image, and I love the feel. I can see the crop working but really like it as is. A beautiful winter scene!

Stuart, I really like this. I also love Cristina's suggestion about narrow vertical crop but I think it's also good as shown here.

Great winter picture of frost covered trees but the inclusion of the person and dog really give this image impact. Various crops could be tried for this image but I think also great as is. Agree though about cloning about the bright sky spot near the top.
