When I saw this at the flower market last week, I knew it has to go on the scanner. There is just this single bloom in the whole pot so I was quite reluctant to cut it off at its prime.

Spend a little time gazing at the blue ring in a dim room and it will pop out of the screen.

Epson 4990, scanned at 1200 dpi. CS5. Thanks for looking and C&C appreciated.

I saw this and thought Pat was back posting. Great subject for scanning; beautifully done and presented. My only very minor suggestion is to clone out the small diagonal dark line near the end of the petal at 10:00.

This may be one of my favorite scans! You were right that this one was meant for the scanner. It is so perfectly illuminated and translates very well. Beautifully done as usual!

No suggestions here, Gary. The blues in the centre sing like sapphires, and the sheen and texture of the petals are entrancing. Superbly presented, as ever !

Oh, my. Words like richness and depth come immediately to mind when I view this. Breathtaking.

Gary, this scan radiates a neon glow IMHO. The purples really work well with scans.
