Tips of new fern leaves along Violet Hill trail looking like the Gondolas of Venice.

D90 105mm F5,6 1/160 HH resting on tripod. Thanks for viewing and C&C appreciated.

Sorry for dropping out for last week. Busy processing files for 2012 calendar for the HK Gardening Society. Will catch up with critiques this week.

Very interesting structure of these fronds. Your eye for form and structure comes through again. Somehow all the blend of sharp and blur, light and dark is splendid.

I like the selective focus on the front frond. Great capture.

An usual beautiful photo of an unusual beautiful fern, for me. This image stirs the fantasy: extraterrestrials, seahorses, lamps in the for ... ? Just splendid in its simplicity and effectiveness. I love it, Gary.
Take care.

Gigi

Good eye to see these as mimicing the gondolas! Excellent use of lines and dof.

Yes it indeed is reminiscent of a Venetian Gondola scene, expertly photographed. Is the 2012 calendar of the HKGS available to non-members?

I don't know why, but I thought of Violin when I opened this frame, Gary - fantastic plane of focus for that edge throughout its evolution in the frame. A slightly more uniform tone in the background might have made this even better in my opinion.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Thomas - yes, I think the HKGS calendar is available for sales to the general public. If you are interested, I can get you a copy.
