Freestyle.

Material: Anthurium, Nigella, Snowberries.

D90 F14 1/4sec CPL. CS5 Viveza, Websharpner

Is the shadow distracting and is the vignette too strong? Thanks for viewing and C&C appreciated.

I like the colors a lot, especially with the white bg, it gives it a smooth feel. I like the faint shadows to the right, but the ones just to the left of the vase are slightly distracting. The vignette's good, though!
Really like the arrangement in the vase...beautifully done!

Love this comp, Gary! My eye went to the shadows, so I would call them distracting. I had not seen the vignette until you pointed it out, so I think it is just right. I much prefer the white version over the black background alternative. Beautiful work.

Beautiful arrangement and very fine comp, Gary. I prefer the white version but the shadows are a bit distracting to me too, in particular those on the vase. The vignette is ok for me. Great work.

Great arrangement Gary. The image with the white background is my preference. The black BG is just too startk for my tastes. The shadows are a bit distracting but I guess you're stll limited by the studio lighting. The vase is very interesting and the colours of it work really well with the plant material. Is this your vase or a borrowed one from the centre.

Gary, Great arrangement as always. Anthuriums and the Vase steal the show me as do the curved grass fronds. Shadow is a wee bit distracting and the darker version seems a little too dark. I might prefer the original version with subtler or no shadows. The vignette is not a problem as it mirrors the curves from the grass.

Beautiful arrangement Gary. I suppose I might consider moving one of the bg snowberris? in front of the grass and the also the top snowberries behind the others. In both cases it gets the stem behind what are to me more interesting elements. (May just be from five years of looking for stems when shooting avian) The balance is wonderful in it.

Great container.

I like the bg shadows but not those on the vase. I like the gradient a lot.

I guess I prefer the lighter bg but it's a hard call for me. Both are very appealing.

This is superb work.

Lovely display, Gary. I don't think the shadow is too distract; nor is the vignette too strong. I like your original posting.

Regards,

Carol

Wonderful arrangement I think. I'm glad you gave us multiple versions and would like more, as this, with and without shadows varies pleasantly. Gary you have, it seems to me, a seemingly limitless imagination. Don't let anything limit that.

The arrangement is another wonderful expression of grace. The shadows on the wall add depth, and the vignette could be brought back just a touch. Excellent work, Gary!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Much appreciated.

Bob: The vase belongs to the studio which have >50 very elegant containers.

Pat: The stems of the snowberries curved in the same manner as the leaves but difficult to show on 2D. I think a 3D image of an arrangement would be great and I might do an anaglyph some time in future when I get my hands on a pair of cyan/blue glasses.

This is very beautiful Gary, I like it very much and find it smoother flowing and pleasing compared to the one posted that had a single grass bent into a hard rectangular shape. Vase and BG also very tasteful. Nicely done!

Gary: another very elegant arrangement! So beautiful and graceful. The shadows on the vase bother a little bit, but everything else is perfect!
