First, please look at the L A R G E R version

as with the previous image (thanks for all comments and thoughts on that), another one from the drakensberg in south africa. in the steep valleys are thick patches of forest; under those dense canopies are streams with many waterfalls. This is but one of many of these cascades. I have tried to maintain the sombre light with the wet rocks catching the glimpses of light from far overhead. Always happy to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Mamiya 7ii, 43mm, delta 100 b&w film, no filters, ~2secs.

really nice stuart! I think you succeeded in capturing that light you were hoping to. You could probably bring up the highlights just a tad, subjective of course. nice work.

Love your bw work Stuart! I have been following it here - you always have something interesting and engaging to say with your images. The light coming from the top is a big asset. Excellent!

I like this a lot, Stuart. Has the mystique and solitude of a secret place.

The large version is exquisite Stuart. Looks like a very moody and mysterious place.

Thanks for directing me to the large version. It's wonderful. You've done a great job capturing the light and mood of this place. Beautiful textures in the rocks.

Love the luminance of the water and reflections on the rocks that contrasts so well with the nice shadows. Outstanding Stuart. Your black and white work is superb.

Beautiful work, Stuart. I like the thin streams of water glowing in the soft light. Lovely toning as well.
