this is my first post in this forum ... feel free to send me back to where i came from - wherever that is. this is a doum palm which caught my eye while in some very remote and very arid areas in northern kenya. the photograph was made in the early morning light; the tree was on the edge of a grove of such palms (hence the dark background). the textures and patterns caught my eye.

thanks for looking; let me know what you think - it seems a little out of place among all the flowers!

It certainly belongs here. As Bill says, "if it grows, it goes". Great eye to capture this and nice B&W.

This image is most welcome here Stuart. I like the repeating verticals in the comp and the textures. Well seen and presented for my tastes. Hope to see more of your posts here.

Stuart:
Sometimes the B&W is more compelling than the color version and I think this is one of those situation. Good conversion.

I really like your conversion Stuart and there is a nice balance to the overall image.

Stuart: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and I think you will fit in here just great. Excellent comp and I like that this is a film shot and not a conversion. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>

Wonderful silvery tones and detail Stuart. I also like the repeating patterns.
