Last image I'll post from the trip to Death Valley with Harley last month. I have reworked this image several times and struggled getting the color balance and local contrast to my liking. Comments, suggestions appreciated.

btw, for a sense of scale, if you look close, you'll see a tiny white spec at the bottom of the wash to the left which is a truck/camper. Hopefully I won't get called on this needing to be moved to M&N sad

Some pretty cool layers going on there.  Very cool!

Super image Dave.  Love the subtle colors and fluidity of the dunes.  The composition is first rate.  Keep up the good work!  Ry

Sorry to hear that this will be your last one from your trip for us to view. All are superb.

Exceptional image. Great layering with the soft muted dunes, backed by the edgier painted hills, topped off by a nice sky.

I really like the "waves" in this.  DV is really something. It's been 5 years since I was there, for all of 1 day!  The dunes in this are superb, with that side-lighting.  Also like the glow in this, and the light on the clouds.  There's such a contrast between the soft feel of the waves and the hard layers in the mountain ridges, and the softness of the clouds.  Nicely done.

Dave, This looks great! Excellent comp and the light is wonderful. I think your struggle getting the color balance ended up being just right so nice job with that. Really a fantastic combination of elements in this beautiful scene.

Sick place to camp!  Color balance and contrast look great to me.  Probably would clone out that tiny camper if was going to print. Wondering if you have any exposures with more of that intense light hitting the peak tops?  Gorgeous shot overall.

Beautiful image.  The warm tones and textures of the dunes are positively sensual. Especially vs the mountain and cloud layers.

Gorgeous textures in that sand Dave.  I feel I am losing just a tad too much info in the rock at the back and would probably lighten just a fraction but in all other respects very nice.  Additional note: Just taken a look at the larger image and that missing info in the rock is much more in evidence.

You had a great run of DV images, Dave. This is excellent. The detail across the board really pops in the large version. I love the dunes.

This is darn near perfect Doug.  Love the sky and the sand dune are beyond compare.  They absolutely make the image for me.  The light, undulations, colors, patterns, textures - all incredible!!  The only nit I have is that the mountains come across as a bit muted and without great detail on my crappy work monitor.  I won't make any suggestions for improvement there because on my good monitor at home it might look totally different.  Anyway, a spectacular image!
