I completely applaud your approach and execution of this.
A psychedelic scattershot...
Very nice.

This has a lovely unspoiled beauty to it, Dave. Looks like a wonderful view to wake up to in the morning. Nice light BTW.

This is a cool mind bender of an image. Not sure why but it looks trippy (a good 60's term). This is real nice.

Dave, the sunlit trees and rock island against the hazier blue-gray is nice. The circle of snow is subtle and good. Only nit may be the bright spot on th extreme LRC.

Dave, this looks like a wonderful place to camp. I love the twisting lines of the composition and the spotlit shrub and rocks. It does have a trippy feel to it as Harley says.

This truly says, 'quiet time in the Sierra'. It is 'trippy', as mentioned. I love the light on the little island.

Dave,
Simply beautifully awesome! Love this. Interesting that one would think the late/early light on the little rocky island would be the star of the show - and by all rights, the image wouldn't be as impactful without the light. But more than that it's one of those images where if you step away - literally back away from the monitor - or print on a wall, that's when the abstract comes more in to view and indeed "mind bender" comes to mind. And it's not just the symmetry and reflection, but also the perfect mix of snow and rock, light and shadow.
Ok, I'm always looking to make an image the best it can be.... miniscule suggestion would be to clone bright bit at the very tip of the LRC.

Dave, nice abstract, no question X marks the spot here. The spot lighting on the trees on the little island is wonderful, and the way you processed the light in the rest of this scene is just great. No nits from me other than the hot spot in the lower right as others have mentioned.
