I managed to catch the Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis) female in the midst of depositing her eggs amoungst the lily pads in my pond.  In an earlier view (much further away), I could see the bright turquoise that Bill's post from a couple of days ago showed.  In this side view, the only hint of that is the blue tinge in the upper part of her eye.  (7D2, 100-400 f4.5-5.6 II @ 400mm, 1/3200 s, f/8, iso 800, tripod)

Wonderful capture, Mark.  Excellent timing.  I have yet to get a good shot in flight.

Very nice, Mark!  This image shows a nice shiny iridescence on the Blue Dasher.  The green lily pad makes a great bg.

Mark, wonderful stop action. I too like the shadow of the dragonfly. The curve of the lily pad adds interest to the composition.
