Harley and I did a couple of 1/2 day runs out to Carrizo Plain to shoot the super bloom. On the first trip we had were challenged by stiff wind but on the second try we had dead winds and nice soft overcast light. Harley probably has a similar comp. so I'll post mine first : )

Wow, I can only imagine seeing this in person Dave.  Amazing color (especially for LSU fans, which I'm not).  I love the zig zag line drawing you in deeper and deeper.  Well done.

This should has been a wonderful experience, Dave. I love these colors but also the composition works very well. The larger version is incredibly detailed.

Excellent! Nope, I don't have this particular comp but great that you do. Nice lines and colors. They were a couple of fun trips, albeit a little brief.

This composition works really well. Nice color and a lot to keep the eye moving through and around the image.

Dave, I'm liking the colorful slopes and layers, and the vertical framing works well with it.  Only nit for me is the relatively bland slope BLHS, seems to draw my eye from what otherwise is real eye candy.

"Amazing color (especially for LSU fans, which I'm not)." Well, I am not only a fan, but a LSU alum, so I like this alot, Dave. But, I would like this anyway. Terrific photo of an eye-popping landscape. The only thing I don't like is that this (the wildflower bloom) was an amazing event, and I missed it.

Incredible colors on these hills.  Like the intersecting ridge lines.  Not sure if possible, but a tighter view with a longer lens to isolate the stronger colors at the top portion of the view might improve the overall appeal.  Some great diversity out your way in landscapes!

Great find, Dave. I didn't see any of these crooked valleys when I was there.  Fine imaging.

Outstanding Dave.  I'm envious that you guys were able to experience this phenomenal event.  Love the comp here. A square of the top would also work real well.  Beautifully done.

Dave,

Wow! So there is more than yellow down there in the Carrizo eh?  Love the colors of course and the flow from bottom to top is wonderful too with the opposing hillsides creating that zig-zagging channel up the middle. This was just yelling out - "Look at me!"

Hard to be critical here. As an alternative, I think the image could be just as beautiful and effective if you lopped off the bottom 3rd.  Just a thought. Regardless, this is bright, colorful and wonderful as presented.

My only nit. I didn't go there this year.  And you or Harley didn't call. cheeky

Fantastic comp Dave, and that says a lot with so much color in this image. Love it!
