Pond Pattern

These pond grasses had lined up nicely on a pond near the town of Chitina, Alaska one autumn day, reflecting the evening sky above. Was able to get up on a rise to utilize my longest lens so as to completely fill the frame with this pattern. Might be too busy but hopefully the image is cohesive enough to retain the viewer's interest.
Would really appreciate your thoughts and comments on this image.
4x5, 600mm, warm polarizer, Velvia.

Although compressed quite a bit, the larger image is a bit better.

Thanks.

Wow, a really nice abstract Vance. I am always fascinated when I see pond, and especially, river grasses, bending to the current. The black background sets off the grasses well and the horizontal composition works for the subject.

Vance, I agree with Jim ... nice abstract and I too like the black BG. I actually prefer the smaller image perspective. Nicely done!

Looks like a great pattern to me, Vance. It's quite striking with the horizontal flow of the grasses. In the larger version the random bits where there are short vertical elements adds lots of extra interest.
