I have to find my way to the west coast sometime just to shoot this stuff. Wasn't into sandstone when I was living there. I very much like the organic quality to this.

I think that if this were mounted on the wall it would hold my interest for a long time. The patterns, colors and fine textures from the sand hold my eye. No suggestions on my part - I like the image as posted.

This is real nice, Vance. Great colors and patterns. A fine intimate abstract rock study. Excellent.

These are always a good opportunity for some various looks at this type of natural structures. I like the natural look you've obtained with the Provia and M1 scan too, Vance. Very nice to see your film work posted here again.

This is wild, Vance. The textures, structures and details are great. Funny thing is, my initial reaction to the thumb was that it was over sharpened...then I opened it and realized that what I was seeing was the grain structure in the rock! I like how you've used that "comma shaped" structure to keep interest. Great job of finding a good comp. in what I'm sure was a very complex view.

Very intriguing patterns, Vance. Some of them below look like paw prints

Well, dang, Vance. You sure nailed this one. I find tafoni very challenging, especially with a LF camera. This looks great! There's just enough warmer colors to offset the blues giving a nice balance.
Well done! Good to see you posting again!
