A reflection of birch, aspen, and cottonwood trees along a small lake in south-central Alaska one June morning several years ago. The sun had risen but the light had not yet started to touch these trees. Always loved the Alaska greens after another dark, long winter, (and may have over done the green here).
4x5, 210mm, Velvia, warm polarizer. M1 scan, TK masks and such.

Large size image also provided.

Your thoughts and comments, critiques and suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks.

Wonderful, serene scene here. The greens look positively electric from here, so do consider toning them down a bit.

Stunning. The greens look great to me - remind me of early summer. Beautiful details in the large version.

I love the 50/50 split here and the wonderful color of the greens when combined with the stark light gray trunks. I bet this one is a real treat to look at on the light table.

Beautiful Vance, love the greens along with the still water surface and of course the reflections, definitely has a tranquil look. Beautifully seen and presented.

Beautiful shot, Vance. I love the uniformity of the tree height which allowed such a wonderful reflection. The greens look fine to me and I don' think I would change a thing. I played with a crop from the left and right to just concentrate the linear lines of the white tree trunks and I liked it. But I also like it as presented. Very nice as usual.

Love all the green and reflection, Vance. Nicely symmetrical, and you took great care to frame it level. Excellent work.

Great dream-like quality to this with that little bit of fog. The green looks realistic. Excellent.

Hi Vance, This is really beautiful and I love the mood this has. It just feels wonderful looking at this and makes me long to be there. The reflections are really nice and and I especially like the fine lines of the birch and aspen trunks. I think your comp works very nice and you have some wonderful details in the large version. I have seen full blown spring greens that look very much like this so the color looks quite natural for me on my monitor.

Very serene scene, Vance. The Velvia is really popping those greens! I might consider pulling out a bit of blue from it, especially in some of the trunks? But looks real nice as presented.

The reflection is the best part.
I think a small crop off the top would look nice with more reflection than land.

Really beautiful. Does seem a touch vibrant to me - the suggestion of pulling out some blue could be the trick.

Gorgeous. The color and reflection are just great. The shadows deep in the background really pull me in as well.

Love the greens and low lying mist. Larger view is fantastic. The 50/50 comp works well IMHO. The muted reflection also adds a lot to the scene.

This is wonderful, Vance. The trees, the mist, the reflection all tie together nicely. I agree with Harley about perhaps pulling some blue, especially in the whites. Other than that, this really works!

This has the unexpected appeal that characterizes your work, Vance. A nice scene, but certainly elevated to a higher level of viewability that engages the viewer in a new way.

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments. I am working on a rework, incorporating the suggestions of pulling a bit of the blue back.
Thanks again.

Beautiful emerald green foliage display and reflection too, Vance. The thin layer of fog seems to be icing on the cake so to speak.Very nice to see the tremendous response to the greens from the Velvia also.......
