I love it Vance. Intimate and abstract. Detail in the larger view is of course best to view.

The LF really came through here on this scene for detail in the larger version, Vance. Excellent image in composition, colorful, and overall front to rear detail too.

I like the image. It really has that nice fall feeling to it. I like the colors and the tree adds a nice center of interest. There is an interesting thing happening with the image or maybe it is just me, but it has the allusion of getting wider at the top. Very interesting.

This is way cool! What a great collection of golden leaves set nicely against that tree trunk with it's collection of lichen. I especially like the size compression in the leaves from front to back and the subtle sprinkling of greenish leaves.

Beautiful sea of leaves! I might consider shifting the color balance a little toward yellow from blue? (very much a personal preference) Real nice image, Vance.

The large version gives a hint of the detail and rich color that I imagine are on the original film. Sweet!

Excellent detail and color in the large version Vance and a very nice intimate abstract scene also. Sounds like you had the same type of fall we had here. I think it was from the long drought we had this summer. Nicely done image.

I really enjoy shots like this. My only nit is that it appears a little dull, I might suggest boosting the mid range brightness and contrast.

I so want to shuffle through these leaves and hear the satisfying rustle beneath my feet. What a lovely and mood evoking image. Excellent capture and presentation.

Wonderful carpet Vance! The trunk is a perfect contrast to add some grounding. I like the ideas above for opening it just a little with processing to give slightly more pop.

The large version is a must see to get the sense of what you are trying to convey. And, the wall to wall sharpness allows the eye to fully explore the frame. An overpowering sense of Fall in this one, Vance!

Super cool and creative approach!
Maybe some brightening or even highlight glow might compliment it.

Thanks everyone for your great comments. Really appreciate it. The repost is an attempt to incorporate the suggestions you folks had, namely slightly increasing midtone brightness and contrast, adding a touch of glow, and just a touch more warmth. I think it looks and works better.
Thanks again. All the feedback is truly appreciated and valued.

I like this one. The tree is perfectly placed. The repost is an improvement, although at my screen resolution the difference is not so noticeable. I'm sure that your tweaks would be more obvious in a print.

Unique image for me, Vance. The pattern and details of the foliage keep my attention, while the tree anchores the composition nicely to me.
