Vance,
This is a stunning image that to me has a ‘Mid-Evil Forest’ sort of feel to it. An inspiring location and well captured . . .

Love the misty blue Vance. This surely is a quintessential PNW beach scene and mood. It must have been wonderful to witness this beautiful scene.

I know this spot, but don't think I've seen a shot of this with that beautiful soft blue light. Really nice Vance!

Nice shot Vance, I love the mood and colors. I like the shot as is, but, I was wondering if you have this shot without the trees in the foreground? For me, the trees ground the whole image, but if I look past them the image becomes very mysterious and dreamy. Well done.

I like the blue tone to the scene without it being overdone at all, Vance. I feel the tone, TOD, and perspective on the view here really gives some feeling to this image. Wonderful capture from this beautiful park. I was only in this park once MANY years ago now, would love to revisit someday.

Its an alluring photograph Vance and the the blue tones are calming and also lend a sense of mystery to the scene. I like how you exposed it as well, but I am not resonating with your composition all that much. I think the strengths in this scene are the seastacks hiding in the mist. The foreground trees on the left obscure that for me. I don't know the area but if it was possible I might have stepped to the right a bit. Just my thoughts, maybe 2 cents, maybe worth even less.

Wonderfully primeval and mysterious. Not sure what could emerge from the mist, dinosaur, a beachcomber, or even Big Foot. Nicely done.

There is a lot I like about this and the mood and atmosphere is just a start. The view from up high instead of on the surf is an appreciated break from the norm here as well. My only critique would be that it feels rather busy on the left and if possible, I would have selected a perspective eliminating the size of the overlap between branches and the main island.

I am not often a blue fan, but this one works really well. Great sense of eerieness (if that is actually a word). I am definitely liking it, Vance.

Nice fresh approach to coastal scenes. I love the light and the tones too. I do wish that the trees on the left were less dominant, and acted more like the trees on the right to frame the scene. Still, an impressive scene, and capture!

Thank you very, very much everyone for your kind words. Really appreciate it.
I agree that a camera position further to the right would have been better but to the best of my recollection, some trees immediately to my right sort of hemmed me in. I hope to get back to Ruby Beach sometime this summer, so we'll see what this years winter storms did to these trees. Maybe there will be a clearer view.
Thanks again.

Vance,
This most certainly captures the mood and atmosphere so typical of the WA and Olympic coast. The large numbers of logs toss around the beaches are one of my clear memories of visiting this place some years ago.
The blues are classically Provia, but again capture the mood, time of day and conditions of the coast. Works beautifully for me.

This really captures the essence of the PNW coast - you've got it all: the trees, driftwood, sea stacks, and of course, that wonderful cool blue atmosphere. Lovely work!

I really like this Vance--real moody and very quirky--my kind of photography! I passed right by that beach a few weeks ago, it was just gray and rainy when i was there.
