winter round here wasn't a real treat so far...
this is one of a few acceptable ones we came away with.

Very beautiful! Without those few colored leaves this would have been completely monochromatic.

Interesting photo. With the layer of ice the trees have a metalic look.

Verena,

Man, right on the heels of my comment in my recent post about "can't see the forest for the trees!" Well, I certainly can here - this is fantastic. The cluster of snow-covered leaves really adds a wonderful touch to this monochromatic scene. I like the gap between the dusted, platinum trees; allowing the eye to explore the wintery forest beyond.

I think this is superb!

what contrast, the details are so crisp this feels like a pen and ink drawing or an etching. Nice work!

Great texture in this image. I really like the accent the snow gives the tree trunks.

This is beautiful. It has a very surreal feel to it and love the way the image draws me back to the smaller trees.

I'm loving the gap near center with the arching branches. Makes me want to walk on in.... This has a wonderful, natural feel to it frrom a scenic and compositional standpoint. Nicely done Verena.

This one's a crash course in texture. You've taken a common subject, snow, which people expect to be soft and fluffy and presented it in a very unexpected way - metallic. Bravo Verena.

Great conditions, nicely captures. I find myself a bit torn between the two focal points in the scene--group of trees on the left and the group on the right. While I like this scene, I'm thinking that using just one group and composing an image around it might be even stronger.

I like this a lot. The metalic look to the trees created by the sheen off the snow is very unusual. Fantastic detail throughout this image.

This is absolutely fantastic work! The nearly metallic appearance of those fg tree trunks is amazing. I could stare at this for a very long time. I'd be happy if this is all I got for a winter's worth of work. Great stuff!

Acceptable? I think it is great, it shows the beautiful side of winter in an excellent way. The mentioned metallic look is fascinating.

This is a wonderful winter shot ! The hint of color really makes this image a little different and makes me keep looking at it. Nice framing as well of the Fg trees to lead me through the image

Talk about a white out and frosting of the trees!!!

This image is sweet! The foreground trees are nicely framed up, and the gap allows the viewer to explore more into the forest.

Love the snowy capture here!!!

Excellent work!!!

This composition looks so easy but I know it is very difficult to accompliash. Great job. The image is very strong because of the colored leaves as they are magnet keeping your eye in the image. Without them the eye would follow the dark trunks out of the frame. I like that you placed them near the top and did not try to frame the image to make them stronger.
