Great Egrets in Fog + Re-post
by Mack Barham
It was foggy this AM at Black Bayou Lake NWR. There were lots of Great Egrets feeding on shad near the north bank. A boat came by and they all took off.
Nikon D200, ISO 500, 1/1250, f 6.3, 200-400VR @ 400mm. Hand held with a modified Bushhawk. Cropped in CS3 on a Powerbook. Thanks for looking - comments welcome.

28 commentsThere are only two things I would do if this were mine, I would clone out the birds head on the middle right that is coming into the image for the first thing. The second thing is there looks to be a dust spot on your sensor or lens, it is showing about a half an inch in from the left, about 3/4 of an inch above the brids beak closest to the left side. Easy fix to clone that out.
Wow, I wish I had taken this.

I was just browsing quickly through the current posts...which I do from time to time, and rarely comment. But this image elicited an audible four-letter word of admiration, so I had to write something! I agree w/Chris Chamberlain's comment above, and I hope this holds up when enlarged so that you can make big dramatic prints from it. Congrats!
