Bornean Pygmy Elephant

We are just back from an incredible wildlife trip to Malaysian Borneo! One of the most special animals we have seen are these Bornean Pygmy Elephants. They live in big groups in the rainforest and come to the Kinabatangan river to drink and eat elephant grass.

Really special photo Ellen. Nicely framed by the grass and tree, the bit of light poking through is also beautiful. Super compositionally!

Good photo of a cool little elephant Ellen! I would love to see these fellows in real life. I am tired of these big ones around here that destroy everything in their path when they get upset!

Very nice Ellen. Borneo is definitely a place that I will visit in the near future. I just watched an excellent program on the science channel called, Expedition Borneo. They captured some pretty good footage of these pygmy elephants.
