The flow of sand...

I just got back from a great trip through northern AZ. Having never been to the desert before, it was a whirlwind tour, with more driving and siteseeing than photography, but I made time for myself in two places, one of which was Antelope Canyon.

The guide taking people through in front of us was a fantastic photographic visionary, and he helped his client and I set this one up. Simple, we're doing long exposures in less than ideal canyon light anyway, lets make the shot more dynamic and unique. And it worked for me, as I like shooting streams back in New England. Very much the East meets West theme of the trip.

Just curious on thoughts. I may rework for stronger color/contrast?!

I really like this Jim, because it is a juxtaposition. It definitely has that waterfall feel, without the water.

This is marvelous Jim; one of your best IMO. I wouldn't rework a thing on this. This is as close to perfection as it gets in my book. This gas so many wonderful elements. One of the most unique and creative images i've seen in a while. Great work.

What makes this image work for me is the contrast in form, texture and size between the organic plants and the rock and the sand. How do things grow in such a place? And, of course, the lighting/color is wonderful. Very unlike Mt. Washington and very similar.

Forgot to add that the only area I would consider altering is maybe bringing out more detail in the shadows above the 'falls'. But hey, we're gilding a lily here.
