First snow

Gallery: Man & NaturePosted February 8, 20071,659 views11 comments

Yesterday it started to snow for the first time this winter, so I left the office and got a few images. Not much snow yet and probably it won't last for long.

Nikon D70, Nikkor 18-70 DX, handheld, small crop from the left, 1/80 @ f11, converted to B&W.

A very fine conversion, Jos. I find this image appealing in B&W. Good job and maybe more snow will grace you.

Jos: Definitely a beautiful B&W image. I really like the soft light combined with the contrast between snow and stark trees.

Jos, what a first class b&w. I love a good b&w and this is right at the top. Marvelous work.

I would like to echo what Mark wrote -- this composition has a lot of depth! I am left with the feeling that I could step right into the image and take a nice walk through those trees. Really nice as presented!

Great tones and the composition really leads you right through the photograph, a lot of things to look at in this photo.

Those trees are perfectly arranged in your composition. A well-deserved EP.
