This was shot at Cannon Beach over the weekend. This was an attempt at including people in my image which I dont do very often. I just liked how the silhouettes fit together in this image. I used a Blue-Gold Polarizer to give it that extra color as the sun was still quite high in this image.

Canon 20D
17-40L
1/100 Sec f/16 ISO 100
Blue-Gold Polarizer

Thanks for any suggestions or critiques

Kevin: I've seen tons of images of Haystack but this one ranks pretty high. I've also never taken a shot with a BG polarizer that I liked. This is exceptionally nice. Well done. >=))>

Kevin, very nice shot and good use of the blue/gold filter. Even with the photographer's position it feels a little centered, but cropping from the left might reduce the impact of the cloud. I like it as captured!

I like the arrangement of the silhouette too Kevin. Good use of the GB polarizer. The diffraction star is well caught.

Kevin....

Even though Haystack is dead center the human element really works here....

this is a "classic" and I can see it printed huge and hanging on a wall!!!!

well done :toast:

I like the effect of the blu & gold. It doesn't come off as hokey here. This is a nice photo overall, too.

Kevin,

Very cool. One of the best 'natural' appearing uses of a B&G filter I've seen. Nicely visualized. Congrats on the EP.

Congrats Kevin, Great execution of the BG filter...I would have cropped a little off the left side of the image to balance it out...The human element (me and my backside) works with this image...Glad you got a dry shot of me before I went into the sea abyss (You had to be there to witness it) isn't that right Kevin

Kevin,
You know I typically don't include human element either and its a big mistake sometimes This is a prime example. This is one speaks to me, the haystacks, the silhouette and teh sun burst all work together. Well done. :toast:
