Loggerhead Shrike
Houston, Tx

Shot this yesterday afternoon while killing a little time. I think I wore him down after going from clump to clump for 25 minutes. I like the look back on this shot. Thanks for looking. All comments welcome.

Beautiful shot, Wayne, I tried chasing one down just a few days ago. I think I was the one got worn down and no shots fired.

Oh that's wonderful -- great pose, great bg. Yep, they really do tend to keep their distance -- congrats on having the patience for the long stalk.
:toast:

What monopod do you use with that rig -- must be a sturdy one?

Hi Wayne,
Nice Shrike shot! Good to see you're still out there shooting. My wife, Kay, and I met you at High Island three years ago. Best Regards.

Beautiful image. I like the background, but think the vegatation in the foreground also adds context to the image as well as illustrating a typical setting for a shrike. Nice work.

The background on this is exceptional. I love the gradation of color. Nice sharp bird and I like the over the shoulder pose of the bird. Really nice.
