Coal Tit

Here's the first shot of my series of European tits. A small forest close to my house has dozens of these as well as crested, blue, great, and marsh tits. The area experiences quite a lot of human and car traffic in the form of joggers, families with dogs and so on, so the birds are well used to people and cars.

For this shot I deliberatly underexposed by -1.3 to get a decent shutterspeed and then brought the exposure back up during postprocessing. Not ideal but better than motion blur.

Gorgeous. Unique composition, but the pine cones and bird balance each other nicely.

Fantastic shot, Patrick. I like your idea of underexposing to get a decent shutter speed. I sometimes do that myself.
