Here's one from this past June. The wind blew all night, but the leeward side of the mountain was wonderfully calm for a few moments after sunrsie.

Shen hao 4x5
90 mm Nikkor

Velvia 100

I'd appreciate your comments!

This is a fantastic landscape. My only nit is the football field in the center!! ok, maybe not but it sure looks like one. I'd be tempted to fill in with trees!! but that's me. :toast: :toast:

I didn't even notice the smooth grass area until it was pointed out-probably a golf course  Justkidding -Your FG is very nice and the amount mtn tops is what really struck me.

LOL, it does kinda look like a football field or a golf course. There's actually a photogenic little house at the edge of that field that you can't see in the web version. It might make the photo a little more marketable as stock, but I'd still prefer to see nothing but wilderness.

Boy you got some nice clear ridges, well at least as clear as it comes in June!. Very nice composition, excellent use of rocks and the Rhoddies to lead us onward to the distant peaks. Very nice Lori!.

This is what I would call a "complete" image. Interesting foreground, a middle ground that pulls the viewer into the scene, and a distant background that maintains the interesting aspect of the image. I'd be inclined to darken the sunlit portion of pine tree on the right, but that's it.

I'll add my kudos! Great composition Lori. I love the depth portrayed by how you included the boulders and the near and far bushes.

Lori,

Congratulations on the EP! This is a fantastic image. Somehow I missed this one this week. I'm glad you won, so I was still able to enjoy it in the EP gallery.

Hey Lori - Sorry i am commenting after the fact - but it is so rare that I make it over to ES&S much anymore. You know this image is music to an old Mountaineers soul. The wind swept knobs (or balds as they say down your way), the rhodies, those blue-green rolling hills - together they are a symphony. I love this! A big congrats on the EP! :toast:
