For some reason this Purple finch reminds me of a typical prize fighter on the skids in an old movie.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 516 mm, Jobu Gimbal mounted to blind window, f/8, 1/100, iso 2000, aperture priority, pattern metering, -2.3 EV. Processed in LR & PS CC. Slight crop from the bottom and right with just a sliver of canvas added to the top. A touch of cloning to get rid of some oof foreground and some burning on a bright spot. Taken yesterday afternoon at 5:36 PM under overcast skies.

Excellent detail and colors for this purple finch. Your observation pool has given you lots of opportunities for bird shots.BG is nice and soft and contrasts well with the finches rosy color...............................Jim

Very nice. I like the pose and the color. I've seen a few House Finches but no Purple Finches yet. Do you have your water feature set up? I ask because the point of view and the fact that you took this from your blind might be a clue? Do you think we will ever see the sun?

David. Yes, this was from the water feature. I still want to make some modifications this spring, but it's up and running.
