Hi Sandy,

A nice looking male American goldfinch.  Yellows are detailed and I like the comp with the head turn. The large view reveals additional details and the degree of separation between the black cap and BG.  Well done......................Jim

Excellent pose, head turn, and perch.  I would like to see it slightly brighter.  Certainly no issue with oversaturation which is easily accomplished in the species in breeding plumage.

Beautiful bird, perch and BG. The head looks a little soft, as if the bird had a little head movement.

Wow!  Great head turn, exposure control and depth of focus.  The goldfinch really pops off that dark clean background.  Well done Sandy.

Much better.  It has gone from being a little flat to really popping.

Excellent composition, Sandy.  I like the brighter version, but on my monitor the yellows seem just a tad much, though some of them are awful yellow, so it could be reality.  The background really works well with the rest of the palette.
