This was taking right outside my window with Canon 7D Mark II, Canon 300 mm L 2.8 at f6.7, 1/500, ISO 500 on tripod with gimbal head.  Edited in Lightroom and NIK.  Cropped to 76% of original.  Comments and suggestions are welcome.  Thanks for viewing.

Love the attitude and fearlessness of these birds. Well done! I am thinking a touch more DOF would have kept the feet and lower abdomen in focus, but good as is.

I like the head-on pose in this, Shirley.  Sharpness, exposure and background are all nice.  I think I'd crop the bottom pretty much up to the low end of the perch as that part of the image feels like it's not doing much.

Hi Shirley,

The look is intense!   I always will lobby for more DOf, but your lens settings enabled you to snag an excellent BG for the shot.  Well done.............................Jim

Shirley this is a great shot. I love how he is looking right at you. Catching him with his lunch in his mouth is a nice touch too.

Superb pose and attitude.  I think you could brighten up the bird a bit which would make it pop a lot more.  I also agree with Dennis about the crop.  The eye contact and the bug are a real plus.

I like it a lot Shirley.  Brave bird to take a bite of the spider, good thing it didn't bite back.  Great pose and BG here.
