Surreal Mosquito hawk

As I was getting into my car this morning I noticed mosquito hawk hanging off the side of the roof. Early morning light is casting a soft glow so I decided to get my camera out and take a shot. When taken with a 400 mm lens the light became quite diffused creating a surrealistic backdrop. All feedback is always appreciated  Ry

I see you posted one of these annoying creatures, too!  frown They have been driving us crazy, but it looks like they're almost finished swarming!  Hope so! sad

Love the reflection.  It looks like it's on a silver gazing globe, not a windshield.    You might want a closer crop.  Just a tad off the top and crop the bottom to just above the dark smudge in the middle...That will really make it look like a gazing globe.  At the bottom crop, maybe clone a bit, so the insect has a bit more "silver" canvas under him.

Almost forgot, at the top of the "globe", blur the outline, as the outline is beautifully blurred lower and into the pink.  BTW, I like the touch of pink...makes him less annoying indecision

A very intriguing shot, Ry.  At this magnification, the side of the roof looks like an oof water drop (albeit with a weird dimple towards the bottom sad )  The dof on the bug looks great with the rest of the image adding some great textures and colors.  Quite the find and very well presented.
