This small paper wasp nest was what greeted me as I was tying up to a tree on the Ocklawaha River just below Roadman Dam with Make Ramy last week to get some shots of the cormorants, osprey and eagles flying up and down the river.  They looked as big as this shot makes them look, but fortunately they were not aggressive, just watchful.  Canon 60D, f9, 1/200 sec, iso 400, -0.7 EV, 100-400 ISLii at 400 mm, with flash compulsory.  Thanks for your thoughts and critiques.

Ed ..I love to make images of wasps on nests..there is sure a slice of risk ..I like how you have got three individuals within the dof. Nice and sharp.

A fine look at these wasps, Ed, with good color and detail.  The bits of vegetation around the edges do a good job of showing how the next is hidden.  Sure glad they weren't aggressive.

Nice detailed image of these three Ed.  I may have removed most of the small sticks poking in the bottom half of the frame if you're into that. Cool shot!
