Nicely composed and with lots of nice detail. I particularly like the leaning tree in contrast with the vertical trunks. The color and processing look good to me. I like the soft mood.

This is real nice. I might consider burning down the reflecting leaves coming in from the left edge toward the top and maybe back off on the sharpening a bit, but minor stuff. I like the depth of the scene and the peaceful mood. Nice work.

Ian,
Agree with comments so far. A lovely, quiet and contemplative autumn scene. Despite being in the woods, there's an openness to this that invites the viewer to walk through... and that's usually a good indicator of a successful comp.
I would agree with the slight crunchiness, although I see some of that as a bit heavy in the contrast, especially in the UL quadrant. Also, the lone pine trunk on the right looks a little magenta to me.
A few minor tweaks and you've got a keeper!

A beautiful woodland scene, Ian. I agree that it looks a bit crunchy in the large view. I might dodge some of the left side to even the light there. It's a very nice image as is.

Hi Ian, Overall, I would say a bit too much empty space but understand that the forest can be a tricky place to photograph.
I would suggest offsetting the green tree in the middle foreground to the left or right (if possible) too. Try many different comps in the forest and you will come up with something nice.

I find this to be a very inviting scene, where I would feel comfortable walking. The darkness on the left seems to be pushing me to the right, and there is nothing wrong with that, but the dark contrast on the left feels so heavily black that it seems unnatural. I think I would like it even more if the blacks on the left were to be either brightened or cropped off.
